While SWEETLIX^® Bloat Guard^® Pressed Blocks are only labeled for use in cattle, they do not contain any ingredients which should harm horses. Additionally, these blocks do not contain any ingredients which should harm sheep or goats either.

Feed labeling rules dictate that all sheep products list a copper minimum and maximum if the copper level exceeds 20 ppm. If small amounts of copper are present, it is from background levels found in grains, molasses and other minerals. Rest assured, if a product is labeled for use in sheep, it is guaranteed safe.

Yes, you can. However, after January 1, 2017 you will need to obtain a Veterinary Feed Directive (VFD) from your veterinarian in order to be able to purchase and legally feed these items.

Yes. Medicated premixes are labeled for use in the manufacture of a medicated Type C feed that will ultimately be fed to the intended animals. Use of these types of products contrary to label directions is strictly prohibited and could result in adverse reactions in your livestock, up to and including death.

No, this is not strictly necessary. Blocks may be placed directly on the ground except in areas where they will sit in standing water. Blocks are designed to shed rain and snow, so do not have to be shielded from the elements unless it is your desire to do so.

There are many reasons why animals may not be consuming correct amounts of mineral supplement. Some of the more common reasons are 1) presence of other sources of free choice salt, 2) not enough mineral feeders for the number of animals, 3) incorrect placement of mineral feeders, 4) mixing minerals with other ingredients, 5) improperly stored minerals and 6) contaminated or dirty minerals.

Because SWEETLIX supplements contain naturally occurring feed ingredients some variations are to be expected. Slight variations in particle size, color or smell is not uncommon and does not mean that the formula has changed or that the product is bad for your animals. Our dried molasses products are created by spraying cane molasses onto soyhulls as a carrier. The fiber in the soyhulls prevents the product from completely dissolving in water.

The feed-through fly control active ingredients offered by SWEETLIX, Altosid^® and Clarifly^® control adult flies by disrupting the fly’s life cycle through the manure. They have no direct effect on adult flies. For this reason, use of adulticide products must be used for about the first month to achieve effective fly control.

While most of these products do not have a specific expiration date (unless so listed on the product label), we do recommend that SWEETLIX supplement products we used within 1 year of the date of manufacture.
